Waste Less, Learn More: empowering children

An innovative approach of teaching food waste awereness to children

About the project

The Erasmus+ KA220 project – SCH “Leftover Challenge,” co-funded by the European Union, aims to raise awareness among children about food waste and its impact over 24 months from December 2023 to November 2025. It will achieve this through an educational game hosted on the project’s website and a teaching plan for teachers. The main goal is to engage primary school children and understand the causes of food waste in families, developing practical solutions. An interactive game will stimulate reflection on eating habits, and teachers will receive training to integrate it into their lessons. The project will assess children’s attitudes towards food waste to promote a sustainable food consumption culture. Collaboration with experts and partners from Greece, Slovenia, Italy, Romania, and the Netherlands will ensure the game’s integration into educational programs and raise awareness of food waste through innovative materials.
